70th Anniversary: Israel Documentary Film Screening In Nay Pyi Taw

Marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Israel, the Opening Night Gala of Israel Film Screening organized by the Israel Embassy in Myanmar took place in Nay Pyi Taw, on Wednesday.

A documentary film on David Ben-Gurion who was a national founder of the State of Israel and the first Prime Minister of Israel was screened to the audience.

The film could bring lessons to be learnt not only to Israel but also to the other countries in the world.

Ambassador, Israel Embassy in Myanmar, H.E. Daniel Zonshine said “We thought he has a good idea and to bring a film on the screen it to the people of Nay Pyi Taw as well members of Parliament, members of the government because I think some of the lesson are that they are seen in the film and relevant not only to Israel but to the other people of other countries as well..”

Ben Gurion made a visit to Myanmar in 1961 followed by the visit of Myanmar Prime Minister U Nu in 1955.

The film also includes the footage of the conversation between the two counterparts and the historic visit.

Ambassador, Israel Embassy in Myanmar, H.E. Daniel Zonshine said “…Now, as part of the relation between our two countries we have also kinds of activity that we have been in the area of agriculture, in the area of medicine and some other area as well and this film I hope we have bringing together the people from both countries.”

David Ben-Gurion was died at the age of 87 in 1973. Union Minster for International Cooperation U Kyaw Tin, departmental officials, parliament representatives and invited guests enjoyed the film.
