AFF U-18 Cup: Myanmar In Group (B)

Myanmar will be in Group (B) of the 2017 AFF U-18 Youth Championship to be hosted in Myanmar.
The championship will be held from September 4th to 17 at the Thuwana YTC stadium in Yangon.
In Group (B), New Zealand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Brunei and Indonesia are with the host team Myanmar. Meanwhile, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, Timor Laste and Thailand are in the Group (A).
It is expected the host Myanmar will have hard matches to reach the semi final as it needs to play against Vietnam and Indonesia in group matches.
Myanmar U-18 has prepared for the championship since the end of the last year. 50 tentative players are divided to two teams named “Phoenix” which is currently participating in Senior level and U-20 level competitions. The team also went to China in December to get the international exposure and played 6 friendly matches so far.
It is planned to participate in invitational tournament in Vietnam in April and will go overseas training in August.
Myanmar U-18 will also participate in Asia U-19 Championship qualifications after this AFF U-18 Youth Championship.
