Ancient Murals : A Temple Cave In Mandalay Region Is Collapsing

11 April 2017

In the Mandalay Region, at the plot no. 119 about 10 miles apart from MaHlaing Township, there is a temple cave built during the Inwa era. It's been now over 500 years. Even though part of the cave has collapsed, the murals of ancient art still remain in original works. The residents nearby are appealing to renovate and preserve the ancient art works as soon as possible.

According to a line of letters inscribed at the wall, the temple cave had been constructed in 825 Myanmar eras which is equivalent to 1463 AD.

So, the people from nearby villages are hoping to renovate the temple cave to preserve the ancient heritage of art works.
