Australia Advanced: Qualified To AFC U-23 Championship 2018

Australia has advanced to AFC U-23 Championship 2018 in China after defeating Myanmar with 3-0 on Sunday at Thuwana Stadium.

Australia’s Bruce Kamau scored opening goal at 6 minutes, Jonathan Aspropotamitis at 31 minutes and Jaushua Sotirio at 58 minutes respectively.

However, head coach Josep Balague praised Myanmar team’s performance.

Head Coach, Australia U-22 Team, Josep Balague: “I think it was a very good game. I think that Myanmar did very good job. I think we have been playing very well. .... I think we worked, we prepared most well and we can win this game. It's important because qualify to us to go to China to play Asian game. …For me, Myanmar is a very good. ... I want to say they played very good. I think that they had to be proud more than ... You need to be happy for that they way that ”

Meanwhile Myanmar’s head coach Gerd Zeise was satisfied with his team’s performance in the 2nd half.

Head Coach, Myanmar U-22 Team, Gerd Zeise: “In the 2nd half, what you saw we dominated them because we could give them 4 goals in a row easily to beat them. Myanmar didn’t qualify for the Championship somehow they won Singapore and Brunei in the AFC U-23 Champion China 2018 Qualifiers.
