Caracas erupts with Molotov and tear gas-filled clashes

Protesters and police held a stand off in the streets of Caracas on Thursday. Equipped with makeshift shields and wearing gas masks, protesters tried to hold their ground as riot police moved in to disperse the crowd with tear gas. Protesters in Venezuela are demanding early elections amidst widespread discontent with President Maduro's government in the face of a deteriorating economy and food shortages.  After more than a month of daily protests against the government, the death toll from the demonstrations has topped 40.
