A 3-week Myanmar traditional Lethwei high-level coach training concluded on Sunday.
The training at Myanmar Traditional Lethwei Training Hall in Mingalardon Township of Yangon was aimed to promote the traditional Lethwei, to earn wins in international matches and to turn out more high-level coaches.
The training which started on the 18th of September shared the tactic used by retired famous Lethwei fighters – it also covered many courses including National sports policy, management, rules and regulations, drugs and substances banned and sports psychology.
Chairman, Myanmar Traditional Lethwei Federation, Soe Htun Shein said “These days, international sports communities show interest in our Myanmar Lethwei. This training is turn out professional coaches both for local and foreign Lethwei fighters.”
31 coaches training famous Lethwei fighters attended the training which also involved a sharing session by a Japanese rector Takanori Ishii.
Trainee, Zar Htet said “We learnt a lot like techniques from the senior and former Lethwei champions. So, such a training like this is very helpful for us, the coaches. I will try my best to promote our Myanmar traditional Lethwei.”
Leveling the skills of trainees, certificates of Completion of Training were issued.
