Heated protests erupt in Brazil over public transport price hike

Brazilians protested against a price increase in public transport yesterday. According to local media, protesters attacked a bank and blocked the path of a bus in Brazil's biggest city after the fare is hiked up to over 2USD. A large number of students in the march called for free public transport to the downtown. Military police were called in to bring protesters under control. A number of arrests were reported.
