ICT Development: e-Government Conference And ICT Exhibition In Nay Pyi Taw

The e-government conference and ICT exhibition took place in Nay Pyi Taw. The conference and expo provide a single platform for the participants to learn from the ICT experts and to network with peers.

This is the second conference for e-Government. It aims to develop ICT sector in Government Organizations and private sector.

The local and international ICT experts discuss for digital Myanmar, telecom service for e-government, data and cyber security as the foundations of the future government.

Vice President, Myanmar Computer Federation, Min Zayar Hlaing said “I believed that the visitor can learn the latest technologies of e-government. The necessary things are out there among the government organizations but they do what they do. So we gave suggestion to the government that to form the leading committee which will guide to all e-government sectors.”

37 exhibitions with over 80 booths including 10 government organizations and local and international exhibitors were participated at the event.

The government organizations showcased their ICT using programmes at the exhibition.

Deputy Director General, Department of Public Health, Aye Aye Sein said “As the ministry of health and sports, we have many plans to transform the ICT using department such us we are working on the sexual reproduction health mobile application, mobile application for inclusive township health planning, bold management system, electronic health management information system and supply chain management at the 79 townships and more. If we implement the e-government sector, we can save our time and work will be done effectively.”

Chief Officer, Mytel (External Relation), Zaw Min Oo said “As the new mobile operator, Mytel has been concentrating on research and development of new-value telecom & ICT packets in every aspect, from e-government for government organizations and ministries in all vertical sectors. The government will keep focus in ICT sector; I believe that the ICT sector in Myanmar will be developed.”

The exhibition is set to take place on the 7th and 8th of November at MICC-2 in Nay Pyi Taw.
