Logistics Hub In Yangon: Logistics Hub To Be Established In Hlaingthaya Township

Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization of the ministry of commerce and HUBS MK Co., Ltd. on Wednesday reached an agreement on establishment of Logistics Hub in Yangon.

The union minister for commerce, Dr. Than Myint and HUBS MK Co., Ltd. managing director delivered remarks. Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization Director-general U Aung Soe and the company managing director signed the Memorandum of Agreement.

Director, HUBS MK Co., Ltd., Steven Chang said “Since Myanmar is the rapid growing economy so we want to be a part of Myanmar country’s economy growth together to built the friendship and find out the business opportunity to build this logistic hub in Yangon. With our country’s state and art technology to build the best logistic hub in Myanmar and we will willing to invest into this country make logistic hub that will help business of Myanmar’s economy.”

Director General, Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization, Aung Soe said “We need modernized logistics which is important. Under the national export strategy, rice, bean, edible oil, fishery products, garments, handicraft and jewellery are exported. To get the smooth export process, we need modernized logistics. That’s why we’ve cooperated with HUBS MK.”

The ministry of commerce which is implementing trade promotion by drawing the National Export Strategy is in need of the logistics hubs meeting the international standard for the quality control and cost reduction competition. Using the cutting edge technologies, an initial survey will be conducted on the 59.107 acres of land plot owned by the ministry of commerce in Hlaingthaya Township of Yangon Region. There are also plans to establish logistics hubs in the regions where agriculture and livestock products are produced.
