Microsoft Corp on Tuesday unveiled Windows 10 S, a streamlined version of its popular operating system, geared toward low-cost laptops for students, as it tries to take share from Google's Chrome OS-run computers. >>> VICE PRESIDENT , MICROSOFT, PANOS PANAY <<< "When you hold this product, it feels amazingly thin and light which is really important when it comes to a laptop like this. It's 2.76 pounds. It's under 14.5 millimeters, and with one finger you can open the screen which is super cool, but it's very elegant in the sense that I just open it smoothly just like that. And what you get is a 13.5 inch diagonal with a three by two aspect ratio. When you think of that aspect ratio and this diagonal that's the productivity of a 14 inch laptop in your standard sixteen by nine format." The company said the Surface laptop integrated with Windows 10 S is priced from $999 and will be available for pre-order starting Tuesday.
