10 April 2017

South Korea says U.S. Navy strike group move reflects seriousness of situation in the Korean peninsula. The strike group, called Carl Vinson, includes a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier is headed to near the Korean peninsula on Monday. Earlier this week U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping met in Florida, where Trump pressed his counterpart to do more to curb North Korea's nuclear program. The move comes before April 15, the 105th birthday of North Korea's founding president and celebrated annually as "the Day of the Sun."
