Achievement Of New Gov’t: US President Congratulates DASSK

According to the Myanmar Embassy Washington DC’s post, US President Barack Obama spoke by phone Wednesday with Union Minister for President Office and Foreign Affairs Daw Aung San Suu Kyi to offer his congratulations on Myanmar’s historic democratic transfer of power to civilian government. The US President commended Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s determined efforts, over the course of many years to achieve a peaceful transfer of power and advance national reconciliation. He also welcomed Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s leadership and underscored the commitment of the United States to help the people and Government of Myanmar achieve a more inclusive, peaceful and prosperous future.
