Call For Help : Donors, CSOs Urged To Send Relief In Namtsan

Over 1,500 victims are taking shelter at Aung Mingalar Monastery in Namtsam, and local authorities are requesting for immediate assistance from civil societies organizations and NGOs. Lawmakers from Namtsam, NamtKham and Man Tone Townships who were in the capital for the parliament sessions rushed back to the fire-hit areas this morning to assist in providing emergency rehabilitation measures for the victims.

REPRESENTATIVE ,MAN TONE TSP.,TA-ARNG (PALAUNG) SELF-ADMINISTERED REGION ,NANG MOE : "We need much assistance from the donors. Since it is a hilly region, rehabilitation measures will be difficult. We request for the assistance of charity organizations… I think the immediate relief measures can be provided by the CSOs as they don't need to go through official procedures unlike the government departments".

A disastrous fire on Thursday engulfed over 300 houses in Namtsam Township of Palaung Self Administered Region, Shan State (north). All houses from Mingalar and MyoLae Wards, while about half of NatMawWun Ward were been burnt down.
