China, UK to further relax visa rules

China and UK will work together to further relax visa rules, the Chinese and UK foreign ministers said on Tuesday in Beijing at a joint press briefing held after their talks. Both Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his British counterpart Philip Hammond, who is currently on an official 2-day visit to Beijing, announced new steps in visa facilitation during the press briefing. British Foreign Minister, Philip Hammond <<< "From next week, Chinese nationals will be able to apply for a two-year multiple entry visa to the UK for the same price as they currently apply for a six-month single visit visa. And we will be extending our own-demand mobile biometric service to a total of 50 sites across China." >>> The two countries will reciprocally issue multiple-entry visas for up to two years to each other's citizens. China hopes that after taking this step, Britain will increase the visa validity of Chinese citizens to 10 years "at a proper time."
