Coaching Instructors : Training Conducted By Myanmar Football Federation

Aims to produce more instructors who can teach local coaches appropriately, Myanmar Football Federation has conducted AFC MA Coaching Instructors Course.

16 coaches including 2 female coaches joined the 10-day course conducted by the panel member of AFC Coach Education.

AFC A licensed holders are allowed to join the training that could be a help in turning out more qualified coaches to meet the demand of current football industry.

AFC Instructor , Sivaji Narayanannair: “Coaching instructors are basically the game. At the moment, as Myanmar has a lot of players, the numbers of coaches are increasing, but what is missing and what is lacking here is the lack of instructors, lack of teachers. The teachers who can teach the coaches. It is an important building block for the development of the football in the country because you need good teachers, who can teach the coaches, so that the couches can teach the players appropriately in a good way.”

This course gave the trainees the certificate like coaching instructor course attendance so they need to assist in AFC C-licensed coaching course to become AFC recognized instructors.

Trainee, Zin Mar One: As this course is about instructor who will teach coaches again, we learned many different strategies related with football. I’m very thankful that we can share what we’ve learned to the other coaches and we will act as instructors when we teach them.

The Federation said they wish to assign AFC C licensed coaches in every school in order to train outstanding footballers since their young age.

But added that the federation cannot implement it alone, and called for Government’s assistance in creating more job opportunities for coaches.

President, Myanmar Football Federation, Zaw Zaw: It is also important to create job opportunities for coaches in respective football clubs. But the problem that the federation can’t do these things alone as we are currently working on building and maintaining infrastructure which government should take responsibility for that, not only focusing on teams and tournaments.

This is the very first of AFC instructor training in Myanmar, and the trainees’ performance will be evaluated so as to decide assignments in real field.
