Death toll climbs to 34 at Guatemala teen shelter fire

The death toll from a tragic fire at a children’s shelter in Guatemala has climbed to 34 deaths.  Another 21 children are in critical condition with burns on 50 percent of their bodies. The blaze broke out on late Tuesday. Children rioting at the shelter protesting poor treatment reportedly set fire to mattresses and the flames spread through the facility. The Guatemalan shelter was designed to house 400 children, mainly girls from broken or abusive homes according to local media.
