eSports Gaming Career

The eSports Academy in Nantes is trying to turn video games into a viable career choice. Their online gaming course is the first of its kind in France and offers students a chance to take their playing skills to the next level. Twenty students have already signed up to the nine-month course, which costs 5,000 euros. A number of US colleges now offer gaming scholarships and nearly 36 million viewers tuned in to the 2015 final of the League of Legends World Championships. But only the very best players can hope to earn a living from competitive gaming, which is why the academy also prepares students for other jobs. So far, all the students on the course are males in their twenties. Applicants are selected based on their gaming skill and must pass a psychological assessment. But with no academic qualifications needed, it could be game over for homework.
