A glider crashed into houses in Sakae, Chiba Prefecture, on the outskirts of Tokyo on Thursday, leaving the two men who were in the plane unconscious, according to Japanese broadcaster NHK. Aerial footage shows a glider, on top of a rooftop of a house. The neighboring house's roof also appears to be damaged by one of the aircraft's wings. Rescue workers and police could be seen inspecting the crash site using ladders to climb up onto the rooftop. The glider is 16 meter wide and 370 kg heavy, and has no engine, NHK said. It departed around noon from Ootone Airport in Ibaraki Prefecture, according to NHK. The airport is about 13 km away from Sakae.
