Historic Site : Min Hla Fort In Magwe Region

Union Minister for Culture U Aye Myint Kyu has inspected Min Hla Fort and called for the maintenance of the fort that reflects ancient engineering arts. Min Hla Fort in Magwe Region was built in 1862 after Second Anglo-Myanmar War or in 1222 Myanmar Era. The Fort was constructed by Myanmar people who came back from abroad with the supervision of Prince Ka Naung and the help of French and Italian engineers with the use of ancient Myanmar masonry art. It is quadrilateral shape and was placed at the military strategic point at the western bank of Ayeyawdy River. Its size is 173 ft and 7 inches in length and 131 ft and 4 inches in breadth.
