Hundreds protest in central London against Syria conflict

Hundreds of people including the actor Carey Mulligan protested in central London on Saturday to call for the government to end the bloodshed in Syria. Mulligan joined the demonstration opposite the gates to Downing Street, where children laid teddy bears in a poignant message from campaigners about the human cost of the bloody conflict. People held placards reading "Save Aleppo" and "Save the Aleppo children" as they chanted slogans against Syria's long-running civil war.
