Investment Opportunities: Prospects And Potential For FDI
The prospects of business opportunities in Myanmar were opened up for the foreign investors at the seminar on “Myanmar, a land with huge potential” at Sule Shangri-La in Yangon on Friday.
The panel discussion on the potential of Myanmar focused on the prospects, potential and opportunities of the country. Deputy Minister for Finance says they expect the economy will be growing in the average of eight percent per annum as the country’s economy is growing fast.
Deputy Minister, Ministry of Finance, Dr. Maung Maung Thein: “We can get many opportunities so for the infrastructure development alone. We need the investment in the region of 320 billion US$ only for the infrastructure development. For total over all development we need in the region of 650 billion US$. That's huge amount of money and then we can expect foreign FDI in the region of 170 billion US$. So that's very good. If we can persuade foreign investors to come into our country we have enormous opportunities to develop.”
Investors from Japan joined the seminar to know the opportunities for future investment.

I think like infrastructure, agriculture and all the commodities trade, energy field, we are very interesting. So, we used to know the opinions how about the futures.
Myanmar has been prioritizing for infrastructure development in seven key sectors including manufacturing, agriculture and energy sector.
