Japan PM talks about special measure against North Korea, phone call with US President

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said in parliamentary on Thursday that the country is considering taking its own measures against North Korea after it announced on Wednesday it successfully tested a hydrogen bomb. JAPANESE PRIME MINISTER, SHINZO ABE ... "We will deal with this situation in a firm manner through the cooperation with the United Nations Security Council, where we have a non-permanent seat, and the United States, Republic of South Korea, China, and Russia, while we will also consider our own measures." 

Abe also described his phone conference this morning with U.S. President Barack Obama. JAPANESE PRIME MINISTER, SHINZO ABE ... "This morning, I held a phone conference with President Obama. We agreed that the provocative act by North Korea as unacceptable, and through a measure by the United Nations Security Council, the two nations will lead the international community, and I was able to again check the U.S.'s commitment it will use various means to protect Japan".

The U.N. Security Council said it would begin working immediately on significant new measures in response to North Korea. North Korea has been under Security Council sanctions since it first tested an atomic device in 2006.
