Lights go out around the world for Earth Hour

Environmental campaigners marked the annual Earth Hour celebration in cities around the world on Saturday. The lights were switched off at world famous landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and Red Square to raise awareness about the threat of climate change. The iconic Paris landmark went dark at 8:30 p.m. joining 350 other global landmarks. In Moscow, activists of World Wide Fund, WWF, gathered on the Red Square with candles as the lights were switched off at Moscow's iconic buildings for 60 minutes. And dozens of environmentally conscious Taiwanese came together to watch the lights turn off on Taiwan's most famous landmark, Taipei 101. Dubai switched off all the external lights at the world's tallest building, Burj Khalifa.
