Long-Range Cycling Competition: The Competition Will Pass Bago Region, Mon And Kayin States
About (260) mile long-range cycling competition which is a round-trip between Bago and Hpa-An will be started at Bago on 23rd of March.
Myanmar Cycling Federation organized its meeting at Department of Sports & Physical Education in Yangon on Friday.
Over 100 local cyclists will participate in this competition and it is organized with the aims of strengthening unity among cyclists, emerging new professional cyclists and enhancing cycling sport.
Vice President, Myanmar Cycling Federation, Myat Thu: It is a road-trip competition; we have already celebrated the road trips like Bagan-Nyaung Oo and MeikHtiLa- NayPyiTaw. There are 4 stages in this competition, firstly (60) mile from Bago to Kyike-Hto, secondly (70) mile from Kyike-Hto to Hpa-An, thirdly (70) mile from Hpa-An to Kyike-Hto and fourthly (60) mile from Kyike-Hto to bago. And then the professional cyclists turning out from this competition can participate in the qualified competition which will be held in NayPyiTaw for ASEAN competitions.
Bago Region, Mon and Kayin States Sports & Physical Education departments cooperate together and warmly welcome this Bago-Hpa-An long-range cycling competition.
Deputy Director, Sports & Physical Education Department( Kayin State), Aye Lwin: the Kayin State government is going to support this competition with the helps of police force, District and township administration offices, township health department. During this competition, we will care about safety of our cyclists.
Myanmar Cycling Federation will present the prizes to cyclists at every stage.
Managing Director, Joy Trading Company Limited, Kyaw Kyaw Thu: This is the 5th time I’ve been supporting local cyclists. I have my own bicycle team and we always support them with bicycle equipments and sometimes bicycles, when they need helps. By holding these competitions, new professional cyclists can emerge.
This long-range cycling competition will be launched on 23rd and ended on 26th of March.
