National Reconciliation: Rally To Support The Union Peace Conference

A rally to support the Union Peace Conference-21st century Panglong was held near the environs of the Inya Lake in Yangon, Thursday.  

The 21-member online group organized the rally, aiming for ensuring peace and national reconciliation as well as ending the armed conflicts. 

Member , 21-member online group , San Lin Aung :  I’m from Kyaukpadaung township and our group formed with 21 members across the country. This is the first time campaign and has plan to do other Regions and States. The 21st century Panglong conference is very important for our country. We will try to involve all national races to our organization. 

The peace activists made processions, distribution of pamphlets, music concerts, public speeches and painting and cartoon exhibitions in some Regions and States to support peace conference. 

Founder , Myanmar Volunteer Alliance Network , Aung Kyaw Oo: There are a lot of peace discussions led by the previous and current governments. I think all need to cooperate for the development of our country and to build trust among each other. I believe the President and the State Counsellor will strive for the success of Pinglong Conference. 

 21st Century Panglong Conference is going to held for 5 days starting 31st August at MICC-2 in Nay Pyi Taw. About 1600 participants are expected to attend the Union Peace Conference, according to the State Counsellor office.
