Parliament: “Beijing Initiative” Proposal Approved
Pyihtaungsu Hluttaw, the Union Parliament approved the signing of “Beijing Initiative” for the country’s greater integration of trade and investment with Bangladesh, China, and India, in its Wednesday session.
The proposal was submitted by the President’s office last month, in order to participate in Bangladesh – China – India – Myanmar local government forum, which will be held next week at Beijing, China. It will be attended by Ministry of National Planning and Economic Development, to discuss issues related with promoting economic growth and trade in the BICM region.
One MP from Sagaing Region also supported this proposal, saying that the signing will be beneficial for the country’s border trade.
Meanwhile in Pyithu Hluttaw, amending bill of the Criminal Law which was sent back by Amyotha Hluttaw, was decided to be discussed in the Union Parliament.
At Amyotha Hluttaw national parliament, the Bill committee brought up the bill amending Veterinary Council Law to discuss at the Amyotha Hluttaw. MPs approved the Bill on technology and vocational education.
