Peace Meeting: NSCN-K Met The Preparation Committee For Peace Conference

The Preparation Sub-committee for 21st Century Panglong Peace Conference met the Delegation from National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-K) at National Reconciliation and Peace Centre in Yangon on Saturday. Seven representatives led by Government's peace negotiator and Chairman of the Sub-Committee Dr. Tin Myo Win and five representatives led by U An Kant of NSCN-K attended the meeting. According to member of preparation sub-commission U Hla Maung Shwe, NSCN-K has signed ceasefire agreement in State level in April 2012. It also attended Union Peace Conference held in January this year as an observer. The Government is planning to hold to 21st Century Panglong Peace Conference in August this year, and making efforts for all inclusiveness of Ethnic Armed Organizations in the conference. The reviewing process of NCA is underway to ensure for participation of non-signatories in the conference.
