Protesters Clash With Police Outside Trump Rally

Protesters clashed with police on Friday night in Salt Lake City, Utah outside a campaign rally being held by U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. The Republican frontrunner has drawn criticism for incendiary rhetoric and reject policies such as his vow to deport 11 million illegal immigrants, temporarily ban Muslims from the United States and build a wall along the Mexican border. Recent outbreaks of violence during protests at Trump rallies have prompted President Barack Obama, a Democrat, and mainstream Republican figures to speak out against the billionaire. Trump warned on Wednesday of "riots" if he is denied the party's presidential nomination, after he scored big wins in primaries in Florida, Illinois and North Carolina on Tuesday. It is uncertain whether Trump can get the 1,237 convention delegates he needs before July. The four Republicans and 2 Democrats are vying to run in the November 8 election to succeed Democratic President Barack Obama.
