Rehabilitation Project: Nippon Foundation Will Implement The Project In KNU/KNLA-PC Areas

With the fund of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, the Nippon Foundation will implement the phase-1 of a rehabilitation project for KNU Thahton district, Duu Palar district, Myeik/Dawei District and KNU/KNLA-PC Mae La regions.  The project launching ceremony was held at the Kayin State Government office in Hpa-an, Wednesday. In the first phase, basic needs such as construction of houses, dispensaries, water supply, digging wells, solar lamps, furniture for the schools and clinics in 10 villages will be included in the said district areas. It estimated that the project will spend over 9.09 billion kyats or about 7.3 million USD. KNU, KNLA-PC, DKBA, rehabilitation joint committee, Nippon Foundation, the Kayin State Government and the Union Government signed a contract for the project. The project’s phase 2 and 3 will be implemented in 2016-2017.
