Ugly Vienna

An ugly twist on the classical guided tour - tourists in Vienna can now see some of the more eccentric or severe examples of architecture the Imperial city has to offer in a new "ugly Vienna" tour. Guide Eugene Quinn said,” Everybody knows Vienna is beautiful, there are a lot of clichés associated with it, Mozart, Sissi, and chocolate cakes, but I think the city is much more interesting than all of these rather boring clichés… I think we need new stories to tell, and I thought as a response to the beauty of Vienna, I would make a tour, bypass the beauty, and only focus on the really ugly buildings, the worst architecture in Vienna, the worst mistakes that architects have made”.
