Winning Victory: Myanmar Sepak Takraw Teams Grabbed 1Gold, 2 Silver & 1 Bronze

Myanmar Sepak Takraw teams grabbed 1gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals in 5th Asian Beach Games 2016 at Da Nang in Vietnam. 

9 out of ASEAN countries and 4 Asian countries participated in the competition.

A total of 12 players from Myanmar competed in men and women triple and quadruple events.

The players said the matches were tough as they had to play on sand but tried their best. 

Player, Khin Hnin Wai: The most difficult part of the competition is that we had to play on the sand. That was tiring. However, we tried with our best and I’m very glad that we could secure 1silver and 1 bronze even the matches were tough.                                                             

Player, Aung Myo Naing: Every contestant teams are tough and we used all of our effort as we had to play against sand. But I’m happy that we won even gold medal.

Myanmar Sepak Takraw teams have so far won 6 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze medals so far in the international competitions.

President, Myanmar Sepak Takraw Federation, Soe Naing: I’m very satisfied with the teams’ performance and effort. We trained them in Nay Pyi Taw Gold Camp by making artificial sand ground to be familiar with playing on the sand. We will keep on trying to grab more wins in the next games in the future.

The Myanmar victorious teams arrived back in Yangon on Friday.
