Korea-Myanmar Art: Cultural Exchange Exhibition
Korea-Myanmar Art Exchange Exhibition, focusing on the 40th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries kicked off at the New Treasure Art Gallery in Yangon, Saturday.
The exhibition is aimed to the cultural exchange and promoting friendship between Myanmar and Korea.
Over 30 artworks and paintings which are created by 17 local and Korean artists are being showcased at the event.
MIN WAE AUNG, ORGANIZER: Although Korea and Myanmar have a little bit difference in art design, the presentations are the same. It is a good cultural exchange for both all local and Korean artists and they will have a change to present their art creation.
Different kinds of artworks created by Korean artists with fiber, steel, wood and porcelain are displayed in the exhibition.
ARTIST, PARK TAE HONG: My artwork is created with steel plate and wood. The wood carvings with fish designs represent to Myanmar and Korean people and depict about the meeting of people of the two countries. I will share Korean art to Myanmar artists.
ARTIST, AUNG MIN : My two paintings are displayed here. These paintings portray rational and geometric arts. I want to share the essence of peace to the audience through my paintings.
All the paintings and artworks are going to be sold and some amount of incomes will be donated to the flood victims. The exhibition will run for 10 days.
