Religious Ceremony: President Enshrined Religious Objects
President U Thein Sein and wife Daw Khin Khin Win attended a ceremony to enshrine religious objects and offer emerald alms bowl and golden robe to the Maha Thakya-ranthi Buddha Image in Nay Pyi Taw, Thursday. The ceremony was held in conjunction with consecration and libation ceremony. The President enshrined religious objects to the repository of relics of Maha Thakyaranthi Buddha Image at the auspicious time. The President and wife also offered golden robe, alms food, fruits, flowers and water to the Buddha image. It was followed by the consecration ceremony where Sayadaws and monks led by Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee, Banmaw monastery Sayadaw Dr. Buddhanda Kumara Biwunsa consecrated to the Buddha Image. The President and wife formally opened the stone inscription of the Buddha image and sprinkled with the scented water. Vice Presidents Dr. Sai Mauk Kham and U Nyan Tun and their wives, the Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker, concerned officials and their wives also sprinkled scented water on the stone inscription. The libation ceremony then followed and the congregation led by the President and wife took the Nine Precepts from Banmaw monastery Sayadaw and donated offertories to the Sayadaws.
