Transport Infrastructure : Business Opportunities For UK Companies

Seminar for Myanmar’s Transport Infrastructure needs and the role for the UK was held at UMFCCI, Friday and it was jointly organized by the British Embassy in Yangon and UK Trade & Investment.The seminar focused the challenges on transportation, travel and commerce sectors that are facing currently in Myanmar. UK Transport Minister announced that 300 million US credit facility of UK Export Finance will help UK companies that are operating exports to Myanmar. 

Chief Executive Officer ,UMFCCI ,Thint Swai  : "We focus on private sector development.  UK is interested in help the infrastructure needs of our country. The purpose of UK companies is to make more investments as well as export to Myanmar. We also discuss the solution for traffic jams, circular railroad and waterway". 

Local business expert said that the investment of UK entrepreneurs in Myanmar is the country re-engagement with the international community and accelerating infrastructure development. 

CEC Member   ,UMFCCI  ,Ye Min Aung : "This seminar intends to provide technology assistance and urban area development. Our country is very weak in the transportation of rural areas. We also discuss more assistance in transportation finance, technology, railway and airport infrastructures and waterway. It will bring benefits for UK companies and Myanmar economic development as well as promote trading".
