Deep Time

An animator has created a video of 3D landscapes showing his interpretation of the evolution of the Earth's existence. The video "Deep Time" was created by Netherlands-based artist Julius Horsthuis. Horsthuis said he used his skills in visual effects and computer-generated imagery to create something "more natural, that people don't automatically associate with computer generated fractals". He used the Mandelbulb 3D software to create the landscapes.

The video was published on video-sharing website Vimeo, and has been viewed by thousands of people since being posted online about two weeks ago.
