Two brothers who turned a hill into a tourist attraction
A hill in southwest Pakistan that two brothers use as a repository for old Korans is visited by thousands of Muslims each year. Diane Desobeau of AFP reports. Haji Abdul Samad Lehri, co-founder of Jabal-e-Noor "I thought that we should do something for the preservation of Holy Koran out of what God has given us, so that it can be saved. People used to burn old copies of the Koran or bury them in the land or throw them into the Arabian Sea in Karachi in the past."
Sumera Amjad, visitor "My husband visited this place and prayed to God who accepted his prayer. After that I believe that our prayer will be accepted."
Amjad, visitor “We want a daughter first, we would like to have a daughter, so we are asking God to give us a daughter.”
Haji Muzaffar Ali, administrator of Jabal-e-Noor "We are trying to find a way to make a recycling plant, if that happens it will be fine, otherwise it will continue. In the future, as long as we have space we will dig and we will have to stop when there will be no space left."
