Yoga enthusiasts gather in the Himalayas
Hundreds of yoga enthusiasts from more than 70 countries converged in India's Rishikesh on Tuesday to take part in a yoga festival. Rishikesh, located in the Himalaya foothills besides the Ganges River, once hosted the Beatles who spent weeks in Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's ashram. The seven-day yoga festival includes courses in 150 styles of yoga as well as classes on meditation and Indian philosophy. Carmen, yoga enthusiast from U.S. "I am very thankful to be here, I am very excited, I am very happy and believe it or not most people usually think about India as a place where they are going to come and find spirituality. That not the reason why I am here, I think I found spirituality already but I am very happy to be here, very blissful, very thankful, very grateful."
India Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who practices yoga and meditation every morning, has set up a yoga ministry to popularize the ancient practice around the world and to reignite interest in its country of birth.
